The new season of the EPL has barely begun and already it is riveting and there’s a new kid on the block. He goes by the name Eden Hazard. In his first three games for Chelsea he has made 6 assists, scored 1 goal from the spot and earned the following praises “the man to transform Chelsea into title winners”, “a defenders nightmare” and “a player like him can make a difference”. His flair and finesse on the ball is lovely to watch and it’s not surprising he has already received comparisons with Messi and Ronaldo and his country’s former great Enzo Scifo. Not bad at all for a player who is just 21 year old.
Prior to joining Chelsea he played 147 games for Lille and managed to score 36 goals. He also managed to win both the Young Player of the Year award (2009/2010) and the Player of the Year award (2011/2012) twice consecutively and in 2011 he became the youngest player ever to win the Player of the Year award.
Hazard’s humble beginnings of having played for local Belgian sides Royal Stade Brainois and Tubize have clearly not held him back but rather propelled him to be the sensation he is. It’s no wonder French football legend Zinedine Zidane recommended him to Real Madrid and said “Eden is technically gifted and very fast. He will be a major star in the future. I would take him to Real Madrid with my eyes closed. Madrid’s loss has definitely been Chelsea’s gain.
